Get yourself a jumbo bag of concreting ballast from the builders merchants, weight approx 850kg of loaded by crane, this is more than you need, use some to blind out your base, then 6 ballast to 1 cement, you may only need 4 no bags of cement for a 6x7 base at 100mm thick.. Concrete base before beginning any work, you must be confident that you are able to complete this type of base. example: shed base 8' long x 6' wide x 3" deep the volume = 8' x 6' x 0.25' = 12 cu ft 2 bags per cubic ft = 24 bags add 10%, once you have mixed the first load you will know how much water you will need for all subsequent loads.. Cement wise i would pour the base at 5-1 so you'll need maybe 7 bags of cement. if you still want to pay a fortune to buy your ballast in small bags get the 25kg ones and you will need approx 30 bags..
Hi all i've got a new shed coming next week. it's only a small one; 4' x 6'. i've never put one up before, so i've been reading up. i'm gonna use paving slabs for the base, and from what i've read it's a good idea to sit the slabs on a bed of sharp sand/cement (ratio 7 to 1).. A dry, solid shed base is important to the foundational structure of any well-built shed. while these outdoor spaces provide a fantastic place to store tools, garden products, childrens bicycles, and more, sheds can let moisture in and ruin your things if you dont install the correct type of base.. If your patio is 20 feet long and 10 feet wide, and you need 6 inches of crushed stone for the base, you would plug those numbers into formula, like this: (20'x10'x0.5') / 27 = 3.7 cubic yards when using this equation, make sure all of your measurements are in feet..
